Happy New Year!
The new year is bringing big changes for us and I'm so grateful that God is leading us down this new path.
I was reading the Grati-dude Diaries and saw a guest post by a lady who practices mindfulness in an interesting way. Check out the last post by Jason Trice and find her link to see how she does it.
Be sure to eat your black-eyed peas and cabbage -we will be later, along with thick pork chops, and cornbread. Sounds like a walk will also be on the agenda!
In about one week, we will be moving to Vidor, Texas where Dave will be starting a new job. This means our travels will have to pause for a while. He told them he'd work for a few years, and then we can get back to it.
He already took the motor home down there (from North Richland Hills where we are staying with my brother, Kevin) and put it in an RV park. We will live there until we find a house. Then he will come back here and get all the things from storage. Can't really do that until we have a house to put them in.
This will also get us back on insurance, which will prayerfully get me treated better and faster than I am with the VA. It's all pretty overwhelming, happening during the holidays, but that's always the way life works, isn't it?
I'm not stressed. I know God has put this plan in place and I trust Him to work things out. Already, He has lined everything else up to this point. We had been innocently shopping at Ollie’s one day and Dave got a call from an old boss of his, explaining that the person needing his help in Vidor was trying to retire and could not find a suitable replacement.
He went and met with her and the rest is history. We had been looking for a place anyway to use as a home base because my brother has been so kind to let us stay with him off and on for three years when we are home, but we need our own now. We won't need a lake house anymore because where we are moving is surrounded by water. The ocean, the Neches River, and Lake Charles, LA are all within a short distance from Vidor.
I plan to find a church we both feel comfortable in and as my health permits, I want to get back to volunteer work. It will also be nice to visit my old friends we made when we lived in Groves a few years ago.
I'm excited at the prospect of a new adventure. A new way of life. Hopefully, one God approves of. 😌🙏

Sounds good, Kim!
Good luck in Texas, Kim!
